Neutrals For the Win

One of my favorite new looks is an all neutral outfit. There is just something I love about light neutrals paired together. It gives such a clean, crisp look. Remember that stupid rule that you can't wear white after labor day?? Well that rule definitely does not exist anymore (at least not to me) and you will be seeing me wear white jeans all year long. I especially love them in the Fall paired with a slouchy sweater like this one from Dottie Couture Boutique. How cute is this sweater?? I obviously love the color but I really love the braid details on the side and wearing it off the shoulder makes for a perfect look.

Dottie Couture is almost sold out of this sweater (it went SO fast!). But I linked some of my other favorite sweaters from Dottie for you above. I love these sweaters just as much and they all look very similar and are in the same color palette. You all really need to check out all of their Fall New Arrivals. They get the cutest stuff in every single day and things sell out fast so make sure to keep checking and if you find something you like to go ahead and grab it. You can also use code "mumu20" at checkout to get 20% off of your order. :)

The last post I wrote on Sunday night said that I would come back to a bible verse that I left you with. It was 2 Corinthians 1:6-11 and it says "You may feel helpless but you're not hopeless". This verse means a lot to me right now as I have been feeling very hopeless lately. I heard some things in particular from this past weekend that left me feeling very empty inside. You know that feeling when someone tells you something and all of a sudden you feel like you've been hit in the gut and can barely breathe? Yeah, that was the feeling I got. That feeling of helplessness carried on into the rest of the night and even into the entire next day. I know we all have days, weeks, even months like this. I won't always understand the things people do or say but I can say that I have hope for the future. I have hope that one day things will get better. I have hope that one day everyone will forgive everyone and that wrongs will be made right. I have hope that one day all of this pain will go away and everything will make sense. And most importantly, I have hope that all things work for the goodness of God and that everything happens for a reason. So although I was left feeling very helpless this past weekend, I did not lose my hope. My hope that the future will be brighter and that God is in control is what keeps me going strong.

Lace Bell Sleeve Top

All Pictures By: Deeana Kourtney Photography

I can't believe the weekend is almost over already. Why does it always fly by soooo fast? We went to a friend's wedding this weekend in Charlotte and had the absolute best time. The wedding was at The Arbor's and it was absolutely beautiful. There were a lot of our friends that came to the wedding from out of town so it was so good seeing them. Our best friend's Jonny and Joanna get married next weekend and I am SO excited for the wedding festivities to continue!

I have been so eager to share with you all one of my all time favorite new tops, this lace bell sleeve top. This style is a huge trend right now and I would be lying to you if I said I wasn't absolutely obsessed with it. The top is completely lace and does not come with a bralette or anything built in. So I had to buy a separate white bralette to pair with it. I linked the one that I bought above and below. Any white bralette would be perfect with it so if you already have one then you definitely don't need to buy a new one. This top also comes in black which I also have in my cart waiting to purchase. Whoops. I am telling you, when I find something I really like, it is so hard for me not to purchase it in every single color! Haha. Does anyone else have this problem?? What I love most about this top is how feminine it is. It is classy yet sexy all at the same time.

I love this top paired with distressed denim. These Levi jeans have been my go to pair of jeans ever since last Fall. They were sold out pretty much everywhere and just came back in stock at Revolve so definitely do yourself a favor and snag yourself a pair. They fit true to size. I am also so in love with these new studded heels I just bought. They are a knock off for the much more expensive Valentino brand and I think they look exactly like the real ones. I was also surprised at how comfortable they are. For being less than $150, these shoes are the most amazing dupes for the Valentino heels. They also come in SO many other color options. It was hard for me to pick. I chose this color just because they are neutral and will go with so many outfits.

I hope you all have an amazing start to the week. I wanted to leave you with a bible verse that I will talk more about later on in the week; "You may feel helpless but you're not hopeless."-2 Corinthians 1:6-11.

Yellow Crop Top + Flared Jeans

All Photos by: Jim Trice Photography

I hope you all are having a great week so far. Monday is over which is always good news. Y'all, I cannot say enough good things about this yellow tie crop top from Thirty One Boutique. The pattern is to die for and the tie in the front completely makes the top one of the cutest crop tops I have ever owned. As soon as I got this beauty in the mail, I knew that I wanted to pair it with a pair of high rise flared jeans. Flared jeans have always been one of my favorite styles of denim and I am so glad that they came back in style. I love how they elongate your legs and they can really be paired with just about anything. I especially love them with sweaters, crop tops and bodysuits.

So I am 5'7" and it is always hard for me to find flared denim that I can wear heels or wedges with (because we all know that I rarely wear flats haha). Just about every single  pair of flared jeans I try on are always too short. I FINALLY found the perfect pair last Winter and I have been wearing them like crazy ever since. These are a little pricey but totally worth the money especially if you think that you will have them for a long time. I also linked my favorite distressed pair for you.

Now onto the important stuff. I am not sure if some of you know, but my husband and I attend Elevation Church in Charlotte. The days when we aren't able to actually make the service we always end up watching it online. Steven Furtick, the head pastor, posted something today on his Instagram page that really touched me. It said "The attitude of your heart reflects the activity of your mind". It was then followed with this bible verse: "My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."-Proverbs 4:20-23. This really hit home with me as I read it. Really try and think about the words: the attitude of your heart reflects the activity of your mind. Isn't that so powerful to think about? I have been really down about some situations in my life lately and have found myself feeling very bitter about things which has caused me to dwell on negativity. Seeing this quote and verse kind of put things into perspective for me. It made me realize that I have got to change the attitude of my heart before my thoughts can be more positive. I prayed this morning for God to allow me to see the positive in situations and to love people who have hurt me. If I dwell on the negative or have hate for people in my heart, then it is only going to hurt me in the end. If I forgive them and love them, then my thoughts and the rest of my life will be so much better. God wants us to be happy and to forgive. We can't have a bitter heart. If we do we will only keep thinking negative thoughts which will only continue to pollute our minds. I don't know about you but I do not want to have a polluted mind all day everyday. I want to change the attitude of my heart so that my thoughts throughout the day can be positive and pure. Thank you Lord for the gift of forgiveness. He forgives us for all of our sins so how in the world can we not forgive others? This includes people in our lives who have hurt us and situations in our lives that have not been the most positive. This also means forgiving YOURSELF. My goal for my life and yours is to forgive and to let go so that we can move on and live a happy life that God wants for all of us.

Suede on Suede

All Photography by: Jim Trice Photography

So, suede on suede. Doesn't sound like it would be too cute, right? Well, at least I wouldn't think so. But HOW CUTE is this floral suede skirt paired with this taupe suede crop top?? This whole look is from Thirty One Boutique and I am just so in love with it. You all know I love skirts and suede is HUGE for Fall right now so this entire look is such a perfect Fall transition piece. If you aren't big on the suede on suede then this skirt would look super cute with a lot of other tops. I could see it paired with a bodysuit, a tank or blouse tucked in, another crop top of a different material and color, or even an oversized sweater with the front tucked in. This look would also look so cute paired with your favorite pair of boots or booties for those cooler temperatures.

Speaking of cooler temperatures, is anyone else ready for the Fall weather to get here?? This girl definitely is. I don't want it to be COLD but it was almost 100 degrees in Charlotte this weekend and I am just so over that kind of heat. My friend Ashely and I had sooo much fun all weekend long. Our shoot with Pineapple Collective was such a big hit. The ladies were some of the nicest and kindest that we had ever met. We spent the rest of our weekend brewery hopping and ended up at Selwyn Pub (my favorite bar in Charlotte) and then finished off Saturday night eating dinner at Reid's (which is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte). We actually went to PumpkinFest at Sycamore Brewery and it was so much fun. There were live bands and the pumpkin beer was SO delicious. It was just SO HOT outside so we didn't make it out there too terribly long. There is something about pumpkins and 100 degree weather that don't seem to go together too well haha.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Let's pray for some cooler temps to come to Charlotte. And for those of you that are already fully living in a little bit of sweater weather, just know that I am super jealous. :)

The Only OTK Boots You'll Ever Need

Happy Thursday!! I just got back from New York with Vestique and boy did we have a good time. New York truly is sooooo beautiful. As much fun as we did have, I am really happy to be back home. Some of you already know how homesick I get! I think it's just because I always miss my husband and our kitty so much. Gosh I am such a home body.

I have partnered with Nordstrom again to bring you another must have Fall accessory, Over the Knee boots. OTK boots have been one of my favorite accessories for Fall for a few years now. I have them in all different styles, colors, and brands. I must say though that these Vince Camuto OTK boots are my absolute favorite yet. I have them in 2 colors (this color and black). To me they are the perfect OTK boot because you can dress them up or down very easily. Some OTK boots are super fancy with  really pointy heels or even tie details at the tops of them. I love the block heel on these. It makes them a little more casual but like I said, you can still easily dress them up or down depending on what outfit you are wearing them with. Not to mention they are SO comfortable. I think that is the one thing that I love most about Vince Camuto shoes. They are always so comfortable and so well made. The suede on these boots is unbelievably soft and durable. I highly, highly recommend these! They come in 4 colors; the light brown shown here, black, dark brown, and grey. I seriously want a pair of each! Also, Vince Camuto shoes always run true to size so no need to worry about crazy sizing!

Not sure what to wear OTK boots with? Don't worry, I've got you covered. OTK boots look amazing with seriously almost everything. I love them most paired with Fall skirts or Fall dresses. They look unbelievable with dresses that are a little shorter because they make your legs look so long and they stop at the perfect place giving you the right amount of space between the dress and the boots. It is also a fun way to wear dresses or skirts when the temperatures get cooler because they still help to keep your legs warm. They also look amazing with skinny jeans. You can truly pair OTK boots with so many things. They are a must have for the Fall season.

If you are looking for the best place to buy Vince Camuto accessories including their amazing shoes, Nordstrom is hands down the best place to go. They have the most amazing selection so I highly suggest looking here. Thank you SO much to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. The opinions are all of my own. :)

Does anyone have any fun weekend plans? One of my friends Ashley Beary is coming to visit me in Charlotte. We have a little photoshoot scheduled with a boutique that is flying in and I am SO excited. My friend Ashley just started blogging by the way and you should definitely check her out and show her some love. Her Instagram is @ashleybeary and her website is She's my girl and has the most amazing style!
