Hippie Dippie Top

Happy Sunday!!!  I wanted to share one of my favorite Boho-Chic looks with you all. If you haven't already noticed, I have a slight obsession with Show Me Your Mumu. My obsession started a little over 3 years ago. I absolutely love all of their prints and the way their clothes fit me. Everything is very boho-esque and flowy. I always feel so comfortable in everything. This Hippie Dippie top is one of my favorites from them. I mean how fun is this top?? I actually tried this on in a boutique in Raleigh and immediately fell in love. I love the colors, the bell sleeves, and the bullhead print. It's so different than anything else that I had in my closet. I think this shirt looks great with a wrap necklace and flared jeans. I also happened to try it on with this white BB Dakota faux fur vest while I was in the boutique and LOVED it. I think they go perfectly together. Also, if you are looking for a good pair of high waisted flared jeans, these Paige jeans are amazing. They fit true to size and come in a lot of different washes so you can find the color that is perfect for you. I just bought some in white for this Spring/Summer. I can't wait to pull those out and wear them!

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend. My husband and I went to dinner at The Cellar on Friday night with one of my work friends and her boyfriend. If you live in Charlotte and haven't been to The Cellar to eat then you need to try it. It is our favorite restaurant in Charlotte. They have the best truffle mac and cheese and their cocktails are SO good! Saturday night we went to an engagement party and had a really great time hanging out with some awesome people that we haven't seen in a while. The weekend always goes by way too fast doesn't it? I can't believe it's almost over and now the Sunday Scaries are kicking in. It's time to pop open a bottle of red and catch up on The Bachelor episode that I missed last week. Anyone else have an addiction to The Bachelor?? It's my guilty pleasure!

Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Is anyone wondering what to wear for Valentine's Day?? Don't worry, I have linked 6 of my favorite looks for you. :) If you are going on a fancy date or just doing something more casual, any of these outfits will work!

1) I absolutely loveeeee this light pink dress from Lulu's. This is perfect for a nice dinner with your other half. The great thing about this dress is that you really can dress it up or down. For a fancier look you could do heels, statement earrings, and a clutch. For a more laid back look you could do wedges, gold hoops, and a cross body.

2) As all of you will soon find out, I absolutely love anything made by Show Me Your Mumu (hence the name of my blog) and this dress is no exception. I am obsessed with the back of it!!!! This one can also be dressed up or down. I love how it has a simple look in the front but a party look in the back. You will be sure to turn heads in this mini dress.

3) This dress is a favorite of mine that I have had in my closet for a while now. I bought it last year to wear to my best friend's rehearsal dinner and got so many compliments. I love the lace material and the scalloped edge. The red color makes it absolutely perfect for Valentine's Day. I will most likely be wearing this one to dinner with my husband this VDay!

4) This dark red top is absolutely perfect for a more casual Valentine's Day look. As always, Show Me Your Mumu wins again with this one. Pair this top with your favorite flared jeans and gold hoops and you've got yourself a killer outfit.

5) I love this off the shoulder top from Nordstrom. I have a similar top in a different color and it's one of my favorites. I am obsessed with the off the shoulder look and the tie detail on the sleeves. The pink color makes it perfect for Valentine's Day and you can definitely dress this one up or down. I think it would be so cute worn with white jeans and gray over the knee boots.

6) Y'all, I can't tell you how much I love this red bell sleeved top from Lulu's. This has heart eyes ALL over it. I will definitely be wearing this for some kind of Valentine's event this year. I can't wait to pair it with a good pair of high waisted denim and a pair of statement earrings. You can't go wrong with this look. I can't say how much I love it enough. And look at that back!!!

I hope you all enjoyed the looks and can see yourself wearing some of them! I would love to know what everyone is doing for Valentine's Day. This year my husband and I are just going to do dinner somewhere in Charlotte. He made reservations but won't tell me where we are going. It's a surprise. Anyone who knows me knows that I am very bad with surprises (I always want to know everything) but I am actually going to try and let him surprise me this time. I secretly hope we are going to The Cellar or Good Food on Montford which are two of my FAVORITE restaurants in Charlotte. If you live in Charlotte and haven't been you have to check them out!

XOXO

New Adventures

What a month it has been! These past few weeks have been such a whirlwind but so much FUN. I finally decided to follow my dreams and start my own blog! I don't know about y'all but starting something new is always so nerve racking to me. I am always worried about what other people are going to think or worried about failing. The thing that I have realized over the past 6 months, is that if you really want to do something you just have to DO IT. You have to chase your dreams and chasing your dreams means taking chances. After a long 3 years of contemplating whether I was ready or confident enough to start my own fashion blog I finally decided that it was time for me to stop being scared of the unknown. I knew that if I didn't at least give it a chance that I would always wonder "what if". One of my favorite quotes to live by is "In the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take". So here we are guys, my very first post on my very first blog. :)

I couldn't be more excited to share one of my favorite day time looks with you. Ever since I was little my mom always told me that I looked so good in a hat. I always thought she was so crazy because I never thought hats were cool. When I thought "hat" I always thought of a baseball cap or one of those crazy hats you see ladies wear at derby races in the South. As my love for fashion has grown, I have come to LOVE a good hat. A good hat can add the perfect touch to any outfit. I also love the statement that it makes.

I found this Rancher hat at Target and fell in love. I love the rancher style of it and how it is a little different than most of the floppy hats that you see people wearing these days. I also love the blush color. When I grabbed this hat at Target I was walking around the store wondering what I could pair it with. That's when I came across a blush cardigan. It was a match made in heaven. The exact one that I bought at Target is sold out but this cardigan from Express is very similar. I paired the cardigan with this barcelona cami from Express. Y'all, this cami is one of my all time favorites. I have it in black, white, blue and a few other colors. It is such a staple to have in your closet because you can wear them with anything! It is the perfect tank to wear with any kind of cardigan, jacket, or even by itself in the summer. This outfit looks great with a good pair of distressed denim. Some of my favorite pairs are these and these. I am a HUGE fan of AG denim and Hudson denim. Both brands usually fit true to size and are always very comfortable. To top this look off, I paired it with my favorite peep toe booties. I am a sucker for peep toe booties and these are probably my favorite pair that I own. I love the color, the suede material, and how they go with everything. You can never go wrong with a pair of Sam Edelman shoes! Plus, these booties are on sale right now for 50% off at 6pm.com! I highly recommend snatching yourself a pair of these. You won't regret it.

What I love most about this look is how simple and effortless it is. That's why I think it is perfect for any day time event. Perfect for a football game, a brewery, a trip to a vineyard with your girlfriends- really anything! I can't wait to wear it again. I hope you all have a fabulous week!!
