Camp MacKenzie-Childs & My Thanksgiving Decor

Our cute Welcome Gift Bags when we first checked into our Inn!

Recently I was lucky enough to attend the Camp MacKenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY and it was such a fun and special week. MacKenzie-Childs is a brand that I have known about for a while because my mother in law has always been a big fan. So being able to go on this trip was such a fun opportunity for me. I got to meet some of the sweetest girls and got to learn so much about the brand.

There were so many fun and incredible things that we did on our trip. The first night we were there we actually got to create our own floral arrangements in MacKenzie-Childs hand painted floral vases and it was so much fun! I had never done floral arranging before and learned a lot from it. We also got to meet Rebecca Proctor who is the chief brand officer and creative director of MacKenzie-Childs. She is absolutely AMAZING. Hands down one of the most vibrant people I have ever met and you can truly see her joy and excitement for the brand. It was a pleasure being able to meet her and spend some time with her.

One of my favorite things that we did was touring the MacKenzie-Childs production headquarters. We got to see how everything was made in Aurora and it was the coolest experience. We toured the ceramics and furniture production. You would never believe everything that goes into making just ONE piece. After seeing all of the work that goes into every single piece, I can’t believe it doesn’t cost way more than it does, haha! You really do get such an appreciation for things when you are able to see all of the hard work that goes into it. Almost every single piece at MacKenzie-Childs is hand painted and that, to me, is my favorite thing about brand. Each and every piece is a little different and unique making them very special. We got to watch the painters actually paint the pieces on our tour but we also got to paint a baking dish of our own! This was a really fun experience and I actually ended up loving my pie dish! I went with a leopard print design and I can’t wait to be able to use it! We even got to bake our own pies which was also so much fun (and they were DELICIOUS!)

We also did a tour of the actual MacKenzie-Childs Farmhouse which is a beautiful house completely decorated with MacKenzie-Childs from floor to ceiling. It was one of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen and really made me so excited to start collecting MacKenzie-Childs pieces of my own. We even got to have lunch with the CEO, John Ling, in the house and it was such a special experience!

During our stay we also did a few more crafts and got to enjoy our very own Friendsgiving! It was so fun spending that special time with everyone and the food was amazing. Not to mention, we had the most amazing MacKenzie-Childs table set up you have ever seen!

I came home from the trip feeling so blessed and so thankful to have been able to experience this with so many amazing girls. I also was so excited to get started on my own MacKenzie-Childs Thanksgiving table decor. I had been so inspired by so many things I saw on the trip and I couldn’t wait to get started in my own house. Below are pictures of everything that I picked out!

Picking out my Thanksgiving table decor was a little harder than I thought it was going to be just because MacKenzie-Childs has so many amazing things. However, after my trip I did realize that their Courtly Check collection was my favorite. This is MacKenzie-Child’s most iconic and most memorable design and I couldn’t love it more! So I decided to go with all courtly check dishes and then added some fun decorations to the table.

To make the table have a very “Thanksgiving feel” I decided to go with these Thanksgiving placemats that have the cutest turkey on them and they are outlined in a similar courtly check design. I also added these fun Wheat Napkin Rings which is probably one of my favorite things on the table! I just think they are so cute and perfect for Fall.

My absolute favorite thing that I got is my Gold Check Flatware. They are GORGEOUS and I know that we will have them to use forever. I have always wanted to have gold flatware and these are the prettiest I have seen!

To decorate the rest of the house I added some fun pumpkin decor. MacKenzie-Childs truly has the cutest pumpkin decor so it was hard picking out what exactly I wanted. You should definitely check out all they have to offer here. I can’t wait to officially host Thanksgiving at our house this year and put all of these amazing pieces to use!

I hope you all loved the recap of my trip and our new Fall/Thanksgiving decor! If you have any questions about anything definitely let me know. I couldn’t recommend this brand more!

XOXO,

Katy
