THANK YOU THANK YOU

All Photos by: Paige Winn Photography

How cuuuuuute is this tie front puffy sleeve top from Dottie Couture Boutique?? I just die. I think it is SO much fun. I love how it is white which means you can pretty much do whatever you want with your accessories. I decided to pair it with my favorite over the knee boots (which you need in your closet) and I wanted to add a pop of color by wearing some statement hot pink earrings. These over the knee boots are a good quality dupe for the Stuart Weitzman ones and they are such a good price. They come in grey, brown, and black. Definitely do yourself a favor and grab a pair. I promise that you will wear them all Fall and Winter long. Also, don't forget that you can use code "mumu20" for 20% off at Dottie Couture including 20% off of this top or any of their new arrivals

I wanted to send you guys a big THANK YOU. On Monday I hit 100K followers on my Instagram account and I am truly at a loss for words. You guys are the absolute best and the fact that you all want to follow me and support me means more than you will ever know. Blogging has been a dream of mine for YEARS and I decided to take the plunge and finally start one just 10 short months ago. I never in a million years thought that my blog would take off the way it has but I am so grateful beyond words.

My dream for blogging started when I started following Caitlin Covington from Southern Curls & Pearls. I actually met her about 5 years ago at Vestique when they hosted a blogging night. Meeting her in person made me even more excited to start my fashion blog journey. I actually emailed her a couple of nights after meeting her asking if she could give me any tips on how to get started, expecting her to never respond and she DID. I was so thankful for her response. I thought I would get started blogging right away but a lot happened in my life during that time that kind of sent me off track. I went through a bad break up, met my husband, changed jobs a few times, and was just really starting to grow into the person that I am today.

Fast forward 4 years later and I finally decided to take the leap of faith. I am SO glad that I did. This journey has been nothing short of amazing. It has had a lot of ups and downs but definitely a lot more ups. One of my favorite things about blogging is all of the incredible opportunities and people it brings into your life. I have made some amazing friends through blogging and I now couldn't imagine my life without these girls. I have also made incredible partnerships with some of the best boutiques, companies, and photographers around. I know I keep saying this but I am truly, truly grateful. Fashion has been something that I have been passionate about my whole life. It all started when my mom made the mistake of taking me into The Limited Too when I was about 7 years old (LOL). I know we all remember that store. My love for clothes and for fashion has been strong ever since then and every single person in my family will agree with that 100%. I am so happy and fortunate to wake up everyday and be able to live out my passion.

You, my followers, mean more to me than you will ever know. You guys are the absolute best. The amount of sweet and heartfelt messages, comments and emails that I have gotten from you is beyond amazing. Most of them bring tears to my eyes and I am just so overwhelmed by the amount of love and support. Thank you to those who have been here with me through my struggles this year, especially with my dad. Your words of encouragement have meant more to me than you will ever know and for those of you that have gone out of your way to share your struggles and your own stories with me...well, you will never be forgotten and your story will always be in my heart.

A big question I get asked a lot is how to get started with blogging. Just as Caitlin Covington did for me, I want to be able to answer all of your questions. So I will be writing a blog post soon about all of my suggestions, advice, and tips for the blogging world so stay tuned for that. Again, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I love each and every one of you and without your support my dream would not be possible. God has truly blessed me this year and I cannot wait to see what the next 10 months have in store.

XOXO

Free People Lace + Velvet Top

All Photos by: Jim Trice Photography

Monday, we meet again. Doesn't it always seem like the weekends go by way too fast? To say that this weekend was a great weekend would definitely be a false statement. It was a rough and emotional one for me to say the least. This year has felt like somewhat of an emotional roller coaster and as soon as I think I am fine something else is thrown in my face or something else happens that pushes me back down again. I decided this weekend that I am done with the nonsense. I am done with the bullying. I am ready to take charge of my life. The only person who can control how I feel is me. I have decided that the best thing for me to do right now in my life and with my current situations is to see a therapist and a life coach. I hate how therapy can be something that is looked down upon because in actuality it is something that we could all benefit from. Never be ashamed to admit that you have seen a therapist or do want to seek therapy. It is something that all of us could benefit from whether we all want to admit it to ourselves or not.  I saw a therapist for a few months in college and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. To learn more about the benefits of therapy check out this article.

I have also decided to join a small group at my church. This is a new journey that I am very, very excited about. I used to do a small group bible study with my girlfriends from college for a couple of years and somehow it kind of died down. It was very beneficial for me during that time even when life was really, really good. So I am even more excited to join now that life has thrown me some curve balls. There is just something about interacting, connecting, and talking with other girls who are christians and who love the Lord. It's unlike any other connection you can find with anyone else. It is a place where you can open up, talk about your problems, your struggles, and your downfalls without feeling like you are being judged. And it is a place where others will share God's love, forgiveness and truth. I am going to be joining an all girls small groups with girls in the age group of 25-35 but I also want my husband and I to do a couple's small group together with newly weds. This will also be great for our marriage and will help us create relationships with other couples who are in the same stage of life as us. If you are in Charlotte and would like to join a small group please reach out to me and I can help you out in any way possible. There is something about finally taking the reins of your own life and doing positive things for your life that is really empowering. I hope that I can help some of you do the same.

I did want to take a minute to talk about how adorable this velvet Free People top from Foi Clothing is. It has lace AND velvet. It doesn't get much better than that. You all know that I am obsessed with velvet and these lace puffy sleeves are just to die for. I absolutely love this top in black but it also comes in another color which I linked for you above and below. This top is perfect for Fall and is so trendy. Make sure to grab this one from Foi before it completely sells out. I've already seen a few sizes go!

Ruffles and Suede

All Photos by: Jim Trice Photography

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! I am so excited to be saying that. I actually can't believe that I am saying that because it has been one of those weeks that has flown by. I always love weeks like that though! I wish I could say that we were just hanging around the house this weekend getting things done but we have another busy weekend ahead. Tonight we actually have a wedding and then tomorrow we have an engagement party. I am looking forward to both though. They will be a great time for sure.

I thought this whole look from Vestique was perfect for starting the weekend off. I was there modeling the other day and ended up putting both of these pieces together on accident while I was in the middle of changing and I loved them together. So of course I had to keep it. I think the ruffle sleeved sweater is absolutely perfect with this suede skirt. My favorite part about the skirt is the gold hardware detailing. It gives the skirt that little extra something that makes it more than just a suede  skirt. I also love how the skirt is so versatile. You could wear this with so many things. I also think it looks amazing with a cropped sweater tucked into the front or a bodysuit. This fun little ruffled top also comes in 3 different colors and is such a good staple to have in your closet for Fall.

You know those nights where you have the best time ever and you weren't planning on it? We had one of those nights last night. I just got done shooting with my photographer and decided to meet my husband at Vivace, this Italian restaurant nearby. My friend Tessa ended up meeting me there after we ate for what we thought would just be one glass of wine and we ended up staying for hours. We had the best time laughing, telling stories, and just hanging out with each other. I didn't get home until after midnight which is late for this girl who is normally in bed by 9:30. I am definitely a little tired but nights like those are the best and you have to take them as they come. YOLO as I like to call it hahaha. I hope that you all have an amazing weekend!

Velvet Embroidered Bomber Jacket

All photos by: Jim Trice Photography

Bomber jackets. I have had my eye on them for a while but hadn't purchased one yet. I was typically looking for a normal green one that was pretty plain until I saw this beauty. I saw this embroidered velvet bomber from Vici Dolls. It is definitely a very edgy trend but I love it. Embroidery is very trendy right now and so is velvet so why not put the two together? I was a little worried about the fit of the jacket and was hoping it wouldn't be too big. When I got it in the mail and put it on, the fit was PERFECT. Just how you want a bomber jacket to fit. Not too tight and not too big. I decided to pair this trendy bomber jacket with my favorite Levi jeans, a ribbed bodysuit, and my new pair of pointy toe pumps. Remember that you can use code "mumu20" at checkout to receive 20% off of your entire purchase at Vici Dolls including this amazing bomber.

I wanted to touch really quick on a message from Elevation Church. The message states that "When you focus on everything that could possibly be missing, you miss everything that could be possible." Steven Furtick has been preaching this recently and it has been an amazing message for me. With all that I have had going on this year it can be easy to look at the glass half empty instead of half full. For example, one thing that I think about a lot that brings me down is the fact that I do think I have a great family but I have no relationship with my dad and he could honestly die at any second. That really scares me and leaves me feeling empty inside and leaves me focusing on what is missing. All of my other friends seem to have dads who are present in their life and who love them and who have always been there for them. Why can't I have that? But the truth is, instead of focusing all of my thoughts on what is missing I could be focusing on all that I have and all that is possible. I have an amazing husband who loves me more than anything in this world. I have an amazing mom, grandparents, uncle, and in laws. I have the world's most amazing friends. I have a job in blogging that I am extremely passionate about that is doing very well for me. I have a roof over my head and I have everything that I could possibly ever need in life. Although there may be things missing in my life, the good news is that there are so many new possibilities in life. God has a reason for everything. Although my heart may ache over what is going on with my family, He could be preparing me for something much bigger through this struggle. Who knows, one day I may be able to speak and help others who have gone through the struggle of family addiction. I pray that this week instead of focusing on what is missing from your life, that you could focus on all that is possible. Looking at the glass half full and trusting in God is a lot better than the latter.

MinkPink Floral Mesh Dress

Oh hey, Monday. We meet again. I am not going to lie, this past week in Charleston was one of the best trips I have had in a really long time. I normally get homesick when I am away from home for more than a few days but this trip was totally different. I had an absolute blast. The first half of the week was spent with my blogger babes Ashley (@ashleybeary) and Jamie (@charlestonblonde). It was the first time I had met Jamie in person and meeting her was such a breathe of fresh air. It felt like all 3 of us had known each other for years. We all just had that instant connection that you hope to find with people. We had very real, vulnerable conversations and got to know each other on such a deep level. If you know me at all then you know that I crave these types of friendships. I could sit around and just talk about life and struggles and ups and downs for hours with my friends. I am also an open book so I very easily tell my story to people. It was nice to be surrounded by 2 girls who are the exact same way. I know that after this trip we have all cultivated new lifetime friendships and Ashley and I are already planning our next trip back to Charleston to visit Jamie.

The rest of my week in Charleston was spent with my best friends from college as we celebrated our girl Caitlin's Bachelorette. I have talked about Caitlin briefly in a blog post before but she truly is the most amazing friend I have ever had. She is so genuine, so down to earth, so loving, and so forgiving. We had a falling out in college and came back stronger than ever and I will forever cherish our friendship. It is one of those that could never be broken. To say that Caitlin is the most chill bride is an understatement. She was so go with the flow all weekend and we truly had the best time. I can't stop reliving the weekend and thinking what an amazing time we all had. My favorite part was probably the last night when we got picked up from dinner by a party limo. Seeing Caitlin's face light up when she saw the limo was the best part! We drove around Charleston for a few hours after that and stopped at any bars we wanted to. It felt like we were in Vegas in the limo with all of the lights, champagne, and music. It was soooo much fun.

Now that I am back in Charlotte I wanted to share with you all my new favorite dress. I found this dress originally at Revolve and instantly knew I had to have it. Unfortunately it sold out at Revolve within a couple of days but I found it at another retailer and also linked the same dress in a different print. As you all know, mesh is so in right now and this dress is one of the most flattering mesh dresses I have seen so far. I love the floral pattern and how it has the black slip underneath it. It's also just so comfortable to wear. I decided to pair this with my suede black booties to keep the outfit looking simple and effortless. If any of you are concerned about sizing, I ordered the size Small and it fits perfectly!

I hope you all have a great start to your week!

XOXO
